2010 Evening Host & Entertainment

Host - Hugh Dennis
The host for the 2010 Fleet News Awards, Hugh Dennis, made his name as one half of Punt & Dennis. He and Steve Punt still appear together on Radio 4’s The Now Show, whilst Hugh also captains his team on Mock The Week and plays the lead in Outnumbered - the wonderfully inventive semi-improvised BBC sitcom.
After originally working as a brand manager for Unilever, Hugh turned a talent for
impressions to better use and began to provide voices for Spitting Image. He then became a regular guest on the Jasper Carott Show and joined the team on The Mary Whitehouse Experience, which first aired on the radio.
Hugh and Steve starred in several peak time series of their own, including The Imaginatively Titled Punt & Dennis Show - and Me, You and Him. Hugh then went on to star alongside Ardal O’Hanlon in My Hero.

Comedian - Jason Manford
Jason Manford has risen from eager amateur to Perrier nominee and one of the UK’s hottest comic properties in just a few years. Best known as a team captain in 8 Out Of 10 Cats, he is also the gently mocking host of Channel 4’s platform for new talent, Tonightly.
Jason was employed as a lowly pot collector at Manchester’s longest running comedy club when an act failed to turn up. He was given his break, and five weeks later won the North West Comedian of the Year Award. Next came the finals of Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny?
Jason’s friendly, man-of-the-people persona and northern charm win over TV, radio and live audiences. As well as hosting the breakfast show on XFM Manchester and propping up Channel 4 comedy, he has appeared in Shameless, Cutting It and the cult BBC3 show Ideal.
